Privacy policy
The short version
Wiserlater collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no account.
The app makes no network requests at all. Everything you write or say stays in the app's own storage on your device, and the only copy of it is the one on your phone.
What the app stores, and where
Predictions, decisions, notes, reflections, transcripts of what you dictated, and your settings are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, inside the app's private container. They are covered by your device's own encryption whenever the device is locked.
There is no server, no account, no sign-in, and no sync. We cannot see your entries, and we could not retrieve them for you if you lost them.
Speech
If you dictate an entry, iOS transcribes it on your device, through the system speech framework. The audio is not uploaded, and it is not kept after the transcription: only the resulting text is saved, as part of the entry.
The first time you use a language, iOS may download a speech model from Apple in order to recognise it. That is a download, not an upload — it sends the language you asked for, not your voice or your words. The download is handled by iOS, under Apple's privacy policy.
Microphone access is used only while a recording is in progress, and only after you tap to record.
Wisy
Wisy is the mascot that asks you questions. The questions are written into the app and chosen by rules that run on your device. No part of what you write is sent to a language model or to any other service.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by the app and delivered by iOS. Nothing about them leaves your device, and no push server is involved.
Face ID and Touch ID
If you turn on the app lock, iOS performs the check and tells the app only whether it succeeded. The app never receives, stores, or has any access to your biometric data.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
None. The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, no crash reporter and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and it does not ask for tracking permission, because it has nothing to track.
Third parties
There are none. No data is shared with anyone, because no data leaves your device.
Your data is yours
- Export — Profile → Privacy and data → Export as JSON or CSV. The file is produced on your device and goes wherever you send it.
- Delete — Profile → Privacy and data → Delete everything. This removes every entry from the device, and your name and settings with them; the app starts over at the beginning. Because there is no copy anywhere else, it cannot be undone.
- Deleting the app removes everything with it.
Since we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase on request. Your rights under the GDPR are satisfied by the two buttons above, which do not depend on us.
Children
Wiserlater is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
